RESOLVED, That,
WHEREAS, The Sun City Grand Softball Club Board of Directors recognizes that it is highly desirable for the Sun City Grand Softball Club membership to be as fully informed as possible when considering any matters brought before it for it’s collective action; and
WHEREAS, such matters have often been brought before the membership with minimum time for explanation or consideration; and
WHEREAS, such matters have often been stated verbally, without any means of insuring that the intent of the matter is clearly stated and available for inclusion in minutes, and
WHEREAS, the club’s by laws provide that Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised shall be followed at club meetings, and
WHEREAS, Roberts Rules of Order Newly Revised provides that:
A Main or Principal Motion is a motion made to bring before the assembly, for its consideration, any particular subject. (ART. 2, 11)
When a main motion is of such importance or length as to be in writing it is usually written in the form of a resolution. (ART. 1, 4)
Every resolution should be in writing, and the presiding officer has a right to require any main motion, amendment, or instructions to a committee to be in writing; therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors requires that matters to be presented to the membership for their collective action at any meeting which is a general membership meeting shall be presented in writing in the form of a resolution; and be it further
RESOLVED, that any such resolutions shall be presented in advance by being mailed to SUN CITY GRAND SOFTBALL CLUB SECRETARY, 19726 N. Remington Dr. Surprise Az. 85374; and be it further
RESOLVED, that such resolutions shall be submitted so as to be received by the Secretary no later than 14 calendar days prior to the meeting at which it will be presented; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Secretary is instructed to include all such resolutions appropriately and timely received by him/her on the agenda for the meeting at which they will be presented.
