A total of 978 bikes have been donated from the Northwest Valley over the past four years to Saint Vincent De Paul. That is about 70% of the total bikes they have received in this timeframe.
Our president received a letter of appreciation and thank you from George Wennerlyn, Sun City Grand Bike Drive Volunteer. Part of the letter is as follows:
“ I would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm “thank you” to you and all of the Sun City Grand Softball Club members for supporting this important community-wide effort. In particular, your Club members Paul Schlender and Milt Overmire spear headed the club drive for bike donations”.

There are information forms for the survivor registration in the center bulletin board or you can call Jim Palzer at 584-9106 for more information. It should be a very emotional evening.
. Art Solomon Report (Dysart School District Scholarship Fund)
If you were to donate to a particular school you would receive a tax credit on your State Tax for the amount you donated up to $250 a person. Rather than doing this way, Art suggested that you donate the amount to a Softball fund on behalf of the Softball club. This way our tax dollars can be specific to a School of the Clubs designation. More information about this procedure will be posted on our web site as soon as the details are ironed out.
Club Affairs
. Lamar Forque Report (Honorarium)
Lamar requested that our ‘Softball Club Photographer”, Roy Caples be given a lifetime membership to our club. Roy has been taking pictures and displaying them at the field, for as long as I can remember. He does this because he likes to. All of the effort is free of charge and he enjoys watching the games. Congratulations to Roy.

She had Dick Roberts report about his chest protector for pitchers, which incidentally protected Dick from a severe injury during a game. That particular protector is no longer being manufactured. However similar protectors can be gotten on the Internet. He suggests all pitchers should purchase them.
Marilyn is still working on CPR classes through the Fire Department or PORA.
She also instructed the players to bring out all necessary equipment before the first game as opposed to getting the equipment when it is needed. She talked about adding Benedryl to the equipment as well as Tablets for low blood sugar.
