National League Games Dec. 09, 2009

Char Wheeler 8 - Dick Steiman, CPA 2

Char Wheeler pitcher, Linda Hoggatt, continued her winning ways by holding the other team to two runs. Both teams played great defense in a close game until the 5th inning. Key hits by Ed Rasala, Glen Turner, and Joe Jellison led to a 5 run 5th inning for a win for the realtors. The accountants had a hard time getting hits today when runners were on base. The accountants played good defense.

Scoreboards 16 - Denny’s 4

Scoreboards had a 5 run 1st inning and continued adding to the lead through out the game. Rod Whittle had a triple, double, 2 singles and 4 RBIs. Judy Muller was 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Sue Cary was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. Chip White was 3 for 3 with 1 RBI. Trudy Morone had a key hit and 2 RBIs. For Denny’s, Mike Wunsch was 2 for 3. The team had a great double play in the 5th inning.

Thunderbird Auto 16 - N.W. Physical Therapy 8

For Thunderbird, Joe Rizzuto was perfect at the plate with 5 hits that included a HR. Mike Ceraso, Pete Walser, and Lou Marano each had 4 hits. John Burridge, sub Pierre Boudreau, and Roy Sours each had 3 hits. Sub Roy Carpenter was stellar at shortstop with numerous assists. For the therapist, Ben Hammett and Glen Zelkind each were 4 for 4. Glen’s hits included a triple. Dennis Bengtson and and Ray Schramm each were 3 for 4.

Liberty Buick 16 - Designs by Don 7

Liberty played good defense with Les Schiller, Stew McWilliam, Al Jay, and Kris Koch all made fine plays. Stew McWilliam, Dick Roberts, and Al Jay each had 3 hits. Don’s could not get the bats going. Everything was hit at the good Liberty defense. Bob Dotts had a triple.

Sun City Awning 20 - Wells Fargo 17

The Sun City Awning team had 24 hits. Phil Guido was 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Jack Pendar, Mac Diller, Susie Tornes each were 3 for 4. John Degrazio and Ed Burnett each were 3 for 5. For the bankers, Becky Holliday and Jim Lamb each were 4 for 4.

The Colonade 20 - A & J Lawn Care 12

The Colonade team had 26 hits. Jim McGrath and Paul Pearson each had 4 hits. Paul made a key catch in the outfield too. Gary Johnson and Jay Schirpke each had 3 hits. Jay’s hits included a triple. Sub Pierre Boudreau had a HR This was a hard fought game.
