TO START A NEW GAME
Make sure the toggle for the timer is turned to OFF
Hit the SHIFT and NEW GAME (also inning period key) keys and it will ask you Y/N?
Hit Yes (#4).
The alphabet will appear in the screen. Hit SHIFT and VTN (also Visitor Score) to put in Visiting Team Name. Use the left and right arrow keys (#4 & 6) to toggle through the letters of the alphabet. When you find the letter you want hit NEXT (#5) and go to the next letter. They will not appear on the Scoreboard, but will appear in the small screen on the keyboard. Once the name is completed as you want it to appear, hit the ENTER key. The name should now appear on the Scoreboard.
Repeat the same process for Home Team Name by hitting the SHIFT and HTN (also Home Score). Once you have completed that name be sure to hit the ENTER key.
Now you are ready for the game. When the first pitch of the game is made, start the Time Clock by pushing on the top of the TIME IN toggle.
Balls and strikes are entered by simply hitting the appropriate BALL or STRIKE keys. When that batter hit’s a fair ball, clear BALLS and/or STRIKES by hitting the CLEAR BALL STRIKE key and you are ready for the next batter.
To score a run: If it is the Visitors Team simply hit the VISITOR SCORE key and the +1. Remember that the first time you hit it the number 0 will appear, you will have to hit it a second time to get “1”. You will have to hit the VISITOR SCORE and number to score a run in that inning.
Repeat the same for HOME SCORE. It will tally the total runs automatically on the scoreboard.
DO NOT PUT A ZERO IN THE INNING UNTIL THAT HALF INNING IS OVER! It is too confusing as the umpire (and spectators) will think you are in the next half of the inning.
Once that inning has been completed, hit INNING PERIOD key, the number of the next inning (ie. INNING PERIOD 2) and then the ENTER key. This will assure that you are always in the correct inning!
At the end of the last game, TURN OFF the keyboard (white toggle switch on back of keyboard). THEN unplug power cord and other cord. YOU MUST THEN HIT THE TOGGLE SWITCH UNDER THE COUNTER TO THE RIGHT. This will turn off the power to the scoreboard itself. If you still have “dancing lights” on the scoreboard, it is because the power toggle is not turned off.
